City Guide | 24 Hours in Denver, Colorado

Denver, here's what you do:

11am: Denver Airport Ice Skating

Shake your plane legs (those seats just keep getting smaller...) by putting on a pair of ice skates and floating around the free rink in the Denver Airport.

1pm: El Taco de Mexico on Santa Fe

Amazing authentic Mexican food and the tacos are super cheap. I recommend sitting at the bar in case you didn't order enough tacos and need to get someone's attention... they're busy!

2pm: Denver Botanic Gardens

Walk it off through the Denver Botanic Gardens. Depending on the time of year you might make it for the Orchid Showcase or the Christmas Lights. If you're really lucky, you might also get in on a free day.

4pm: Sloan Lake & Joyride Brewing Company

Head to the Sloan Lake neighborhood and take a relaxing stroll around the lake that sits in the middle of the city. There's great views of downtown and Joyride Brewing Company is just off one corner for a mid-hike Happy Hour.

7pm: Linger

This old moratuary is now the liveliest food scene in Denver! It's got an eclectic mash up of international cuisines that they somehow pull off. You can't go wrong.

10pm: Golden Moon Speakeasy

A cozy, candlelit Prohibition-era cocktail lounge. The nearby Golden Moon Distillery provides most of the local booze.

8am: Stowaway Coffee & Kitchen

Grab one of the best coffees in Denver and one of their most popular menu items: avocado toast (duh).

9am: Movement Boulder Climbing + Fitness

Sweat out the night before with a yoga class or a couple hours climbing. It helps if you have a friend in town who can lend you a climbing pass.

11am: Root Down

Make sure you save yourself enough time before your flight to eat lunch at best airport restaurant ever. Much of the food is locally sourced and health-conscious, and it's all delicious. If you're in a rush try the Traveler's Bento Box. You can also call ahead and pick up a to-go order right before your flight.
